We needed a younger audience to understand what smart meters are all about and how they measure energy in pounds and pence.
This was our wildcard idea but our brave and up-for-it client totally bought into it.
We built a pop-up tattoo parlour at Bestival that offered people a free tattoo and we tested how many people we could ink for 10p. The jeopardy? if the energy ran out, you may be left with half a tattoo (sorry person wandering around now with an unfinished tattoo!).
Hosted by Maya Jama, featuring Jay & Sketch from Channel 4’s Tattoo Fixers. The event happened on the Friday and the video went live by 4pm Saturday - utilising SEO as everyone searched for Bestival that weekend, boom, the film was served up. Over 3m 20somethings tuned in.
